Escape This runs 19 horror rooms as of 25 October 2026, counting every room at every venue. They are built on 10 different horror themes, several of which play in more than one city. The count comes straight from the Horror tag in Escape This’s room catalog. Horrorscape also lists The Dunny, but as a spooky thriller, not a horror room.
Because Escape This files The Dunny under Adventure, not Horror. It has a deranged villain, a deadline at sundown and a creepy outback set, so horror fans ask about it, but it plays for laughs as much as screams. Horrorscape keeps it on the thriller shelf and never counts it among the horror rooms.

Look for a lower difficulty rating and a higher escape rate. Escape This rates The Haunting, Dracula, Zombie Apocalypse and Frankenstein Resurrection 7 out of 10, below the 8s. By the numbers, the most-escaped ranked horror rooms are The Haunting in Northbridge (51%), Frankenstein Resurrection in Sydney CBD (80%), Possession in Melbourne CBD (91%).
Most of them. In Escape This’s booking system, every horror room takes a pair except The Haunting (from 4), Dracula (from 4) and Frankenstein Resurrection (from 3). Buried Alive is two players exactly. Watch for Saturday four-player minimums on rooms like The Possession and Meat Grinder.
The Haunting at Escape This Northbridge, which takes up to 12 players. Most horror rooms stop at 6 or 8, and Buried Alive at 2. Bigger groups can split across rooms that start together; Team Escapes handles that for work groups.

They can. Escape This reserves the right to ask for ID from anyone who looks under the limit, and its 15+ and 18+ horror rooms don’t admit younger children as spectators either. Bring photo ID if you could pass for younger.

Use the live booking grid on any Horrorscape city or room page; it shows real availability and confirms straight away through Escape This’s ticketing partner, Fever. You can also call the venue. Every booking is private to your group.
No. Escape This keeps every booking exclusive to the group that made it, so the only people screaming beside you in the dark are your own. That has been its policy all along.
They can leave. Escape This fits its horror rooms with panic buttons for exiting early and watches every game on CCTV, so staff know when someone is struggling. Nobody will be allowed to play while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
